Align T-Rex 450 Aluminum Case — Review 02Mar08

The Align T-Rex 450 case is a great way to transport your T-Rex 450 (or other 450-sized heli). It is a sturdy aluminum case that will protect your heli, and other contents, from major drops and dings. It is not a solid aluminum case so someone jumping or falling on it would probably cause damage but otherwise it provides good protection. It also includes a detachable shoulder strap.

The case measures 698 x 203 x 284mm (approximately 27.5 x 8 x 11 inches) in size and is lined with foam and includes a special foam insert molded to fit the helicopter, a transmitter, and varies other miscellaneous items. The transmitter cutout is designed for FM-style transmitters but you can get a 2.4Ghz transmitter, such as the Spektrum DX7, to fit by simply rotating the transmitter 90 deg and cutting out a small section of the foam insert. The insert also includes some round cutouts for tools such as hex drivers and also provides room to make a few other cuts in the foam to hold other tools. If you use a transmitter case then you could use the extra space in the 450 case to hold a charger and power supply or similar sized items. Another tip is to rotate the foam insert 180 degrees so that when you are carrying the case the heli is on its skids. This is probably not really necessary but just feels better.

The Align T-Rex 450 case is probably the best way to transport and protect your heli. Recommended.
